Reporting to the Vendor Management Team Lead, the Senior Vendor Manager is responsible for leading complex recruitment requests, creating teams of linguists, preparing expected costs for the Production and Sales teams and creating reports for senior management. We are seeking a candidate that is passionate about the language industry, new technologies, finding the best talent in the market and that is committed to TDL�??s vision, values and culture. The Senior Vendor Manager is also responsible to mentor more junior members of the VM team and to act as internal point of contact for internal escalations. The role-holder will work closely with TDL�??s leaders of the operational and commercial functions and continually refine and build their own skills.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle of freelance and agency applications from testing to reference checks prior to bringing them on board.
  • Negotiate rates with suitable talented vendors and update database with accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison regarding any vendor related issues or concerns.
  • Serve as internal point of contact and owner of vendor quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Work closely and diligently with Project Management, Operations and Business Development teams to support recruitment needs.
  • Monitor performance of our resources and provide feedback where required.
  • Identify resource gaps and proactively recruit subject specialists to expand our talent pool.
  • Conduct regular key account reviews with PMs to ensure availability and retention of key resources at competitive rates.
  • Manage large scale vendor recruitment initiatives independently
  • Contribute to process improvement projects that drive team efficiency and excellence
  • Provide timely KPI reports to senior management
  • Manage and train junior recruitment executives
  • Recruit and allocate vendors for projects based on client criteria

Qualifications & Experience

  • BA or MA degree in translation/linguistics.
  • English to native level and ideally fluency in another language
  • 3+ years of recruitment experience ideally in the Translation industry
  • Good IT literacy and commercial awareness

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in a professional manner
  • Quality focused with a keen eye for detail.
